Day 6 (NYC) - RunnerSpace.com/Travels Season 1

Calvin and I woke up this morning on the couches of a place closely resembling a fraternity house. Let me paint you a picture: the walls smell as though they were painted with Milwaukee's Best, of which there were three kegs against the wall. A trashcan filled to the brim stands at the center of the room just behind the head of my 'bed,' likely positioned out of convenience from so many mornings of post-party cleanups. The seven-bedroom apartment proudly displays the flags of the New Orleans Saints, the Cleveland Browns, the Newman Greenies along with assorted lacrosse and skiing memorabilia. The only things missing were a Beirut table and a dead hooker.

Later, we met with my good friend Harrison Lakehomer who runs with the New York Athletic Club and took us on a solid 12-mile run through Central Park, Columbia University, and along the Hudson River. It was a great way to see the city despite the snow the snow that often slows you down and breaks you out of a rhythm.

We also had a chance to meet Harry's roommate, Nat Weiss, the former American manager for the Beatles among others. Nat has a letter from the apartment management company circa 1968 framed on his wall. It requests in the future he give them notice before having the Beatles stay with him because the hoard of girls surrounding the building prevented other residents from getting in. A Google search of Nat produces interesting reads such as this.

Dank breakfast: Walkers (in Tribeca)

We hear Kid Cudi lives next door, and while we haven't heard this through the wall, it's a good jam: "Up Up & Away"
